Page Layout
Website pages are very similar in layout to Newpapers, Magazines, Posters, Brochures and even Post-cards.
There are literally 100,000's of layout, colour, image use and textual combinations which might be considered.
Think boxes, and columns and you have the beginnings of a page layout.
If Navigation is thought of as a Content Guide then it becomes easier to visualise your basic layout and the placement of your important elements.
Consider layouts of your favourite websites. What do you like and dislike? You have the beginnings of a page design.
A Web Page Layout is just a series of boxes and columns placed in a pleasing and practical way. There are always header and footer area's, then, inbetween those are the boxes and columns which contain your message.
The way in which the data is displayed within the skeleton, 'background-layout', is what makes the design work and gives the page its power to convey your message and company / personal image. Virtually any design is possible, you just have to 'see' it.
